Bank Holiday: Living Off Grid
Anna Guyer | 05.05.10

This past weekend, our Aga burned out - no oil - and our bank holiday transformed into somewhat of an adventurous weekend at home, cooking outside on an open fire.

Our addiction to coffee will not be hindered. We made coffee. Lots of it.
Copious amounts of sausages were cooked and consumed.
We were glad for the sun, and overall happy (if a bit knackered) to have the outdoor space and required equipment to prepare food al fresco for three hungry children.

Matthew is at his happiest making fires and living off the land. I love seeing him in his element.
I also love feeling the heat of the Aga as it percolates back to its ever present self. It's a guilty secret that we have an AGA for cooking, but I prefer to focus on the positives: we have a wood pellet boiler for heating.
