Hallelujah! Good news on rail travel at last
Anna Guyer | 19.10.10

Having felt marooned in the UK for the last five years, last year venturing to France, what fantastic news that we will be able to travel to Europe faster by train than plane.
The Sunday Times has just reported that trains will soon beat planes to many European cities, as a number of bidders compete to buy the high-speed channel rail link which will join London to Europe.
Not only will this be faster, but greener too, and will hopefully see the decline of short-haul flights across Europe.
I cannot tell you how happy that makes me feel. With three children under 10 we were beginning to feel envious of foreign holidays. Italy and Spain - here we come!
