Feeding the 5000
Five thousand members of the public were invited to a free hot lunch in Trafalgar Square made entirely from ingredients that would otherwise have been wasted.
Our objective through the high profile event was to highlight how easy it is to reduce the extraordinary levels of food waste in the UK and how governments, businesses and individuals can help.
We worked with the inspirational campaigner, Tristram Stuart, and in partnership with FareShare, FoodCycle, Love Food Hate Waste, Friends of the Earth and the Mayor of London.
In only a few weeks, the Greenhouse team generated more than 100 articles, including eight pieces of national TV broadcast news and more than fifteen articles in national newspapers.
