Moving to renewable energy makes good commercial sense to aid in the transition to a low carbon economy. Thankfully this change is now beginning to take form.
Land Securities was the first British real estate company to commit to 100% renewable energy, and the Arciadia Group chose to buy 100% renewable-based electricity as a key plank in its corporate social responsibility journey.
Both of these pioneering companies are part of the re100. The re100 is a collection of the world’s most influential companies that are committing to 100% renewable power. These case studies and initiatives are proof that those important business decisions are finally happening, helping to drive the change needed to begin the switch to renewable power.
Recently Greenhouse developed a campaign to drive awareness of the business benefits of switching to 100% renewables and to demonstrate how easy it is to switch.
Working with Smartest Energy, Britain’s leading purchaser of electricity from independent renewable generators, and supplier of some of the biggest brands on the high street. We launched Business and the Renewables Revolution, a report which revealed that switching to renewable adds less than 1% to power bills and offers a range of business benefits, the value of which can easily outweigh the minimal extra cost.
Smartest Energy have developed 100% renewable products with the UK’s first energy labels stating source and carbon content.
Private sector accounts for >56% of UK electricity use and the report highlighted the key role businesses can play in the transition to a low-carbon economy. The report also showcased the growing number of global brands which have committed to 100% renewable electricity with case studies from major players on their reasons for choosing clean power. These brands included Saint Gobain, Arcadia, Land Securities and the University of London.
We also collaborated with leading business advocates for renewables, The Carbon Trust, The Climate Group and The Aldersgate Group, to build credibility and scale.
In total we generated over 20 articles in energy and green business media, and gained a total coverage reach of over 300k. Publications included Business Green, Edie, the ENDS report, reNews, Energy Live News and Clean Technica.
Mark Shirley, Smartest Energy said ”Greenhouse PR reviewed our positioning, connected with opinion leaders and top customers, to create a compelling proposition for our communications – demonstrating the trend and the movement of corporates committing to renewable energy.’
